We love Christmas time!

Christmas is so fun this year because Brooklyn is so excited about everything! She understands the Christmas Story better and can tell you who the people are the nativity (her favorite is baby Jesus.) She makes sure we say thanks for Santa in every one of our prayers. She loves seeing Santa, and always tells him she wants a candy cane. Yesterday at our ward party she told Santa she wanted a candy cane again, which he gave her immediately, as usual. Then Curtis said, do you want to tell him you want some toys too? So she said she wanted toys, and then she was crying after because she thought the toys were like the candy canes, Santa could give them to you as soon as you asked. We explained to her that Santa comes on Christmas Eve to bring her the presents. I just love Christmas, especially through the eyes of a child! =)

Also at the ward Christmas party...I am on the activities committee so Curtis had to watch Brooklyn himself almost the whole night while I helped with dinner and other things. Brooklyn wouldn't sit still or be quiet for the program, so we finally decided she and Curtis should probably just go home. Curtis took her out to the car and Brooklyn told him they couldn't leave because she really wanted to see baby Jesus (our ward did the Christmas Story as part of the program.) She promised she would be good if Curtis would take her back in to see him. So Curtis couldn't say no to a request like that and he took her back in. He said she really did behave for the rest of the program. And, as a result, (but less importantly than the first person she wanted to see) she also got to see Santa.
