Funny things, drawing, "I'm 3", and the infamous big blue ball

Funny things Brooklyn has said lately...
When Brooklyn has a runny nose I give her a “rag” (a soft old washcloth or burp rag) when she goes to bed. I don't give her a Kleenex because every time I do I come in and find it torn to shreds in her bed and on the floor. Anyway, the other day I gave her one rag and she told me she needs two rags, I told her she didn't need two rags because she only has one nose. She replied with, “I need two because I have two holes!” I couldn't think of a good argument for that so I gave her two. The next night she told me the same thing and I again told her she only had one nose and she again said she had two holes. I told her one rag could wipe both holes because they were so close together. She kept insisting she needed two and I finally told her she could have two rags when she grew two noses, and she said OK.

The other day Curtis did something I don't like him to do (eat in the living room) and I said something to Brooklyn about it and she said “Daddy was naughty we will have to take away his boring toys.” So she said we should take away his power cord for his computer. (I am pretty sure this all came to her mind because we have been taking away favorite toys from her when she does something naughty, so she figures it should apply to parents as well.)

Brooklyn drawing on her Princess table (it is made to be drawn on, and then it wipes off, unlike some other places she has chosen to draw on...)She is wearing her eyebrow (for some reason she keeps calling the apron an "eyebrow") so she won't get marker all over her clothes...her hands are another story. =)

Showing me how old she is with her fingers (and thumb)...

Playing with the infamous big blue ball. She is always so wild with it and has gotten hurt more than once with it (and had it taken away more than once.) The scrape on her forehead you will see in the next blog she got while playing with the ball.

Reading, Barbies, Playdough and Church

Just some pictures I have taken over the past week...

On Sunday-Brooklyn being silly in her cute new dress...

Brooklyn loves playing with Play-Doh! (Yep that is really how it is spelled, I checked.=)

Eating lunch with her Barbie friends-

Sitting in the "blanket basket" "reading" The Friend and Family Fun magazines and telling mommy-"This looks fun we should make this" and "this is cute" (and then showing me the thing she found in the magazine.)

We are famous!

We were in the ward newsletter this month. I am pretty sure it is the closest we will ever come to being a newspaper, so I thought I would share it. =) (Not sure why it cuts off the side of the page when I publish the blog, but at least you can see most of it.)

Another Birthday Party!

Saturday Brooklyn went to her friend Kalen's birthday party. She had sooo much fun! It was Spiderman themed so she wanted to model her mask.

And some without the mask

Brooklyn in her green for St. Patrick's Day! The night before St. Patty's I was trying to explain to Brooklyn that you wear green on St. Patrick's or someone can pinch you, and she just kept saying-"Mom we don't pinch that is naughty." I tried to convince that it was just for fun and we just pinch softly. I was glad when St. Patrick's came and she seemed to grasp and accept the concept. She talked to my mom and sister and Curtis on the phone and asked them all if she could pinch them because they weren't wearing green (but they all were so she couldn't.)

We had breakfast for dinner and had green belgian waffles and green eggs.

A couple funny things Brooklyn has said lately-
Yesterday she asked me what color a "toot" was...(how in the world am I supposed to answer that? And with a straight face...?)
She also was getting all the dish towels out of the drawer and putting them all over the kitchen floor and I asked her why she was doing that and to please put them back, and she said "I can't mommy, I have to clean because Heavenly Father and Jesus are coming to our house." So I told her they weren't coming, but she insisted they were and that she was going to invite them to come and they would...(I really don't know where she comes up with some of this stuff, and sometimes I just don't know how to respond to her.)
Then on Sunday she told Curtis and I that she asked a little boy in her Sunbeam class if he would just be her handsome prince so she could get married in the temple (we talk about handsome princes and getting married in the temple sometimes.) She said he said "yes I will marry you."

And one with all the Easter Baskets today.

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney on Ice tonight, except this time it was "World's of Fantasy" instead of "Princess Classics" (that was last time.)

Waiting for the show to start...

One of Brooklyn's favorites-Mickie and Minnie!

And one of my fave's-Goofy!

Cars

Little Mermaid (Brooklyn was worried because little mermaid was "embarassed"-that is her way of saying her tummy and shoulders are showing-yep she is already learning modesty =)
Brooklyn was glad The Little Mermaid's Handsome Prince came to save her.

Lion King

The loves of my life-

OK I really don't like pictures of me but Brooklyn is making a different funny face in every picture (on purpose, and we didn't tell her to, it was all her idea, I didn't even know she did all of them until I looked at the pictures) and they are so silly and cute I just had to put them on.

And the grand finale-Tinker bell (another of Brooklyn's fave's)

And we got ice cream after...(it was a MUCH better deal then the $8 lemonade or $12 snow cones you could buy at the show)

Afterward Brooklyn told us thanks for taking her and that it was a lot of fun! (I love it when she tells me something we did was fun!)

Dance Class and Brooklyn thoughts

A cute picture from dance class today...

And some cute things Brooklyn has said lately...
Lately she has been really liking "rhyming" but I don't think she understands exactly what it means, so I told her it is like mean, green, clean...and Brooklyn said "and Vaseline!" OK so much for my simple one syllable rhymes! She is way ahead of me! Also Curtis introduced her to onion rings tonight, which she surprised both of us by deciding she liked them, but she keeps calling them "yunoins." =)
Yesterday she didn't want to take a nap and her excuse was "I don't want to close my eyes because then it will be dark!"
She also keeps begging for "prizes" for everything, so I told her prizes were only for special things, and she said "I am a special thing, so I can have a prize!" (It makes it so much harder to tell her no when she comes up with cute things like that. =)
The other night she wanted daddy to sing to her at bedtime tonight so, to encourage him, she said "You are a rockstar!"

Cookie College

Today Brooklyn attended Cookie College at Gardner Village. Her friend Kayla and her mom also came. First we took a tour of the bakery.

Next we got to roll out cookie dough and cut out cookies.

While they were baking we ate lunch. After they were done we got to frost and decorate our cookies.

They were yummy! Brooklyn graduated Cookie College with honors! (She is supposed to be holding up her "diploma.") We had a lot of fun!
