Brooklyn thinks it is so funny to call daddy "mommy" and when she does that Curtis teases her by calling her "baby." The other day Brooklyn told Curtis "You can't call me baby because babies don't have any teeth and I have teeth."
Good reasoning for a 3 year old...I think she will probably be a detective or a lawyer one day. =)
Today in church Brooklyn was looking at my eyes and I guess I looked away and she asked "Do your eyes move mommy?" And I said "Yes!" Apparently that is a little known fact. Then she started seeing what other parts of her head would move (eyebrows, nose, lips, tongue...)
Last night Brooklyn found a pretty small blanket in her closet and insisted she needed to put it on (in addition to her regular bigger blanket) when she went to bed. I had to unfold it as much as possible to cover her. A little bit later she yelled for me to come in because her blanket wasn't covering her any more. Then a while after that she was crying and I went in to see what was wrong and she told me "The blanket isn't listening!" Apparently she tried to get it to cover her when it came off again and it just wasn't cooperating. This time however I was a little smarter and told her maybe we should try a different bigger blanket that would "listen" better. That solved the problem. =)
The other day Brooklyn had a friend over and they were playing with a baton and a noisemaker toy and they were pretending they were their "sticks." And I went in to check on them and said something like "Brooklyn got a lot of sticks huh?" to her little friend and Brooklyn jumped in and said "has" to correct my use of "got." OK I know that is pretty sad when your 3 year has to correct your grammer, but I just was amazed that she knew to correct me! OK maybe she will be an editor or an English teacher instead of a detective or lawyer. =)

Warning-Eating donuts and ice cream can turn you into an orange hair head
Brooklyn after eating her donut (guess what color the frosting was...)
Brooklyn eating Girls Scout Cookie Ice Cream (not good to have in the house when mommy is dieting...)
What happens if you eat both in one day...
You have lots of fun and turn into an orange hair head!

Playing dress up
Brooklyn dressing up as Tinkerbell (or a butterfly, it keeps changing.)
Wearing some of her beautiful jewelry...
Just a cute picture of Daddy and Brooklyn (even though Daddy is making is making a little bit of a funny face. =)
A few days ago we were looking for Brooklyn's little Cinderella doll (we haven't been able to find her for about a week.) I told Brooklyn we needed to think of the last place we saw Cinderella. Brooklyn's answered "skating on the ice!" Because we saw Cinderella skating at Disney on Ice a couple months ago. =)
Brooklyn suprises us a lot by using words I didn't know she knew. Her new words lately are "complete," "island," and "otherwise." She has also started the "why, why why's" and the "that's not fair."
Have I ever mentioned how much I love being a mom? I really do! Even on the days when Brooklyn fully embraces her age (I believe they are called the "horrible three's") I still know that all too soon she will be all grown up and I will miss her being little! I really do love everything about being a mom. I just hope we can have more children, so I can enjoy it even longer! (And Brooklyn really wants to be a big sister.)

Arave Family Party 2010
Every year on New Year's Day a member of my mom's family reserves their church and all of my mom's siblings and their families and my grandma go there and have lunch and play bingo and basketball. It was great! Happy New Year!
Also today, I was telling (not to be confused with lecturing ;-) Brooklyn that a little doll house she had wouldn't fit in her-already full of Polly Pockets and other treasures-baby crib, and she just kept trying to put it in, until finally she said "OK mom, change out." And I said "What?" And she said "Chill out." My 3 year old told me to "chill out!" OK it was pretty funny, especially when she couldn't remember exactly how to say it and told me to change out. =)
Brooklyn ate 2 1/2 frosted sugar cookies (by "ate" I mean just the frosting) so she was a happy girl.
