Halloween!

On our way to Grandma's!

Modeling her cosutme

So "beary" tired...Too tired to Trick or Treat before we even got started?! Actually she did really well. We decided to do some Trick or Treating in Grandma Davis's neighborhood this year. It was lots of fun!

Halloween Party

Brooklyn had a little Halloween Party this year with a few friends. She talked about it for days after wards and would mention who she had come-Mary Poppins, Little Mermaid, Skeleton-Bat, Monkey, Witch, and Geisha girl. I thought it was funny that she only mentioned real names once or twice and usually told people about her party by telling them "who" came by what they dressed up as. Brooklyn really wanted to be a scary monster for Halloween this year (not a princess like most of the other girls her age.) I bought her bear costume last year and was determined that she wear it though, (plus where do you find a girl monster cosutme?) so I told her she could be a scary bear. So she told everyone she was a scary bear and then she would growl at them just to prove it.
We played some games (pin the nose on the pumpkin, drop the ghost sucker in the cauldron, cup cake walk, bobbing for apples with prizes inside, coloring Halloween pictures, passing around a pumpkin with Halloween things to do ie stand like a scarecrow wrap your leg in TP like a mummy) and had treats. It was fun!

So excited the morning of her party!

Some of the treats (Mummy cookies and spider and bat cupcakes)

Daddy and Brooklyn

Just thought this picture was super cute! (Brooklyn wanted to take it after Daddy showed her a picture of him holding her right after she was born.)

And this is what happens when Brooklyn insists she can take a picture by herself

(And I won't post the one she took of me, she missed my head completely...(=

Date night

We finally had a date night! Tonight Curtis and I went to the Cinegrill in Salt Lake. It was pretty good, I actually think I have been there before with some friends, but I didn't remember that until we actually got in there. The location isn't the greatest but other than that I liked it.
After that we went to see the School House Rock Play. I got some free tickets to it. It was kinf of fun...the only songs I really remembered from when I was young were "Conjunction junction" and "I'm just a Bill..."

(For some reason I can't ever remember to take pictures when it is just Curtis and I though, so these are my "pretend" pictures instead.)

Brooklyn's new favorite things

Brooklyn loves to do the exercise song Chicken Fat (from President Kennedy's time I just found out.) My mom had a tape of it and Brooklyn did it at their house and she just keeps doing it over and over again. Here are some pic's of her doing her "Ekercises"
Push ups-

Marching in place

Sit-ups

Jumping jacks (I think)

And her other new favorite thing to do-
Make trains! Which means putting everything she can think of in a line and then sitting on a part of the "train" while saying chug a chugga choo choo and "going" everywhere you can imagine! (It makes such a big mess but she loves and has so much fun!)

How do you say no to this?

Brooklyn is usually full of excuses not to go to bed ("I need a drink, I need another song, I need a piggynoink-see post from little while ago to know what that means-I need to go potty, etc) but tonight she came up with one I didn't quite know how to deal with. She said "Mom I can't go to bed I need to read the Book of Mormon." And she just kept saying that over and over again.
Earlier today we needed to go to the store but Brooklyn didn't want to come because she was too busy reading her "scripures" (scriptures.) We had all our scriptures setting on the couch from FHE last night and she just sat there "reading" them forever. I finally had to tell her we could bring them to the store, but it wasn't good enough just bring one set, we had to bring 3 sets.

I already know Brooklyn's generation will be better than I ever was, I don't remember wanting to read the scriptures so badly when I was 2 (or 12...) Hopefully she carries her love for scriptures with her for her whole life!

Walk to Remember

Today we went to the Walk to Remember, an event organized by SHARE parents of Utah for families who have lost babies. Here are a few pictures of Brooklyn's wearing the walk to remember shirt with all 5 of our babies listed. (I forgot my camera during the actual event.../=

Later we did a little shopping. Brooklyn found Dora and a car she liked.

Which witch?

Brooklyn did a little Halloween dance in dance class last week and they all got to wear witches hats!

Black Island Farms

Tonight Corey and April invited us to go to Black Island Farms with their family. Curtis had to work late so I asked my  sister Stephanie if she wanted to come with us. First we got on the (hay-less) hayride and went to pick out some really big pumpkins! It is fun to get really big pumpkins, up until you have to carry them to the car. Corey and April happened to be leaving at the time we were trying to bring our pumpkins to the car, so they helped us. That was good but we were sad because we got there a little late and the hayride took longer than expected so we didn't really get to do anything with them and their boys. )= We are glad they invited us though, it was so fun! (PS the date on the pictures is actually is correct, for some reason my wonderful camera thinks that is should day-month-year) (PS#2 Sorry but blogger is trying to be so helpful and it is making it so I can't arrange the pictures they way I want or type captions, so I will just have to type everything up here.)

Waiting in line for the Hayride; our "Great Pumpkins"; The Wild Train Ride (Really was wild, apparently it was the first time the kid had driven it and when he finished someone came rushing up to him and told him he was going WAY to fast...Steph said she was holding on to Brooklyn for dear life.); Eating donuts and hot cocoa at Grandma's afterwards (when we went to take Steph home.) What a fun night! Thanks for inviting us Corey and April!

Hugs

Today Brooklyn and I were sitting on the couch and I guess I put my hand under my chin and I wasn't talking so Brooklyn asked "Are you just thinking?" And I said yes. So a few minutes later she put her little hand under her chin (in "thinking" position) and said to me "I'm just thinking.....I wish someone would give me a hug."

So I gave her a big hug! Too cute! I love her so much! She makes me smile all the time!
