Bows

It is really late but I am just so excited because I made bows! I am so proud. I really can't sew (except to fix a button or a small hole) but I did manage to make bows-lots and lots of curly bows! I have seen them at a lot of craft fairs and I have purchased them before (because I thought they were so cute!), but now I can make them myself! Hooray!

Grandpa's Birthday

Yesterday we went see Grandma and Grandpa Davis because it was Grandpa's B-day. Brooklyn had lots of fun helping Grandpa open his presents! Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa!

Curtis

A few days ago Brooklyn was carrying around her doll and I asked her what the dolls name was. She said the dolls name was Curtis. I couldn't stop laughing, especially since this isn't a one of the bald baby dolls that could be a boy or girl...And actually right now she is sitting in her bed talking to "Curtis" and combing her hair. (I will put the picture below so you can read this before you see the doll-oh and I think Brooklyn decided to cover her dolls face because she always tries to hide when I take her picture so she figured one of them needs to be hiding.)

Also, the other day Brooklyn was telling Curtis he could kiss her cheek and after he gave her a cheek on one side she said now I want you to kiss the other sidewalk (side.) Kids are so fun!
These are just some pictures I thought were cute.

Fun

Today we got to watch my niece Taylee. She is very cute and I meant to take pictures but I totally spaced it! /= Anyway, it was fun! Brooklyn was a little jealous but still did pretty well. She tried to be a little helper but if I was holding Taylee then Brooklyn wanted me to hold her too. And once when Taylee started crying because she was hungry and I was carrying her to the kitchen to make a bottle Brooklyn started trying to imitate her cry so that I would take her too. She also told me she wanted a bottle too. It was pretty funny. Later Brooklyn was showing Taylee all her toys and she was showing her some things from her little play kitchen and she got to a toy pancake and she turned to Taylee and said "This is a pat-a-cake." That made me laugh. It was fun to see how Brooklyn might interact with a baby. Hopefully she can have a younger sibling soon!

Eleffalo

+

=...

Sometimes there are buffalo in the fields by our house, and I always point them out to Brooklyn when they are there. I pointed them out to her the other day and a second later she said "Those are the eleffalo's." It took me a minute to figure out what she was saying. She was combining Elephant and Buffalo into one word. Sounded cute to me!
(OK technically according to the following I should be teaching her to call them Bison, but really eleson doesn't sound as cute eleffalo's...(-;
"Bison are the largest terrestrial land mammals in North America. While commonly called buffalo, true buffalo are found only in Africa and Asia." )

Tracy Aviary

Lately Brooklyn just loves birds...anytime she sees one walking she says "Hi Birdie" and tries to get closer (but of course the bird flies away.) I was thinking we needed to take her somewhere she could see the birds up close, and when I read on my friend Tina's blog that she had taken her kids there recently, I thought that was a great idea! So today we went to the Tracy Aviary. Aunt Julie came with us. It was fun! (Sorry it is a long "list" of pictures...I haven't figured out how to the photo montage or slide show thing quite yet...maybe someone who knows how can tell me..(=

Looking at the Pelicans! Did you know their pink color comes from the food they eat? (Probably cotton candy...(= OK maybe berries or something)

Looking away from the pelicans-I'm not quite sure why-maybe she saw the cotton candy? That would explain why she is licking her lips... (=

Funny little birds that seemed to be all over. Brooklyn kept leaning over to them and saying "What you doing? Just going in circles?"

The peacock! (Sorry I can't remember the technical name.)

But he wouldn't spread his tail feathers for us.):

The birds with the funny hair-do's (I am sure that is the correct technical name for them) One decided to fly away during our picture!

"You must be at least this tall to ride the Emu." Darn!

The Eagles!

The tulips!

Driving the car at Liberty Park. We also rode the Ferris Wheel and the Merry Go Round and Brooklyn flew the little airplane! Julie was afraid all the rides were so rusty they might collapse, but that only added to the fun and excitement!

Looking at one of the birds...

We had fun! Brooklyn even got to color and put stamps on a bird picture!

And, as souvenirs, Brooklyn got some bird stickers and Bird Poo Lip Goo chap stick! (Don't worry, being the wonderful parent that I am I checked to make sure there is no actual bird poo in the lip goo before I let my child put it on her lips.)

"Read books all day"

Brooklyn really likes to "read" her books. She kind of goes in spurts when she just wants to read and read though. She is currently going through one those "spurts." Every time I ask her to come with me so we can somewhere or she needs to go to bed, she is usually looking at her books and tells me she doesn't want to come (or go to bed) she says "I just want to read books all day." That was the case this morning when we were trying to go to church. She put her sunglasses on and got herself a sucker and sat down on the couch to read. It really is hard to get her out the door when she wants to read her books! When we did get her out the door and went to church, Brooklyn surprised us by folding her arms and closing her eyes and sitting still through almost all the prayers (even the 3 baby blessings!) She is growing up so fast. I am proud of her for being such a big girl but it kind of makes me sad that everything seems to go by so quickly! )=

This picture is daddy and Brooklyn. (No I don't know whose messy room that is...certainly not mine. /=
