Cinnamon Tootsie Rolls and a scooter

We went to my nephew's b-day party today (I forgot my camera /= ) and Brooklyn got a little birthday treat bag that included some tootsie rolls. I am pretty sure Brooklyn has tried them before but I guess she forgot because she kept asking me what they were called and I kept telling her "tootsie rolls." Then she kept saying, "Oh, I am eating a cinnamon roll." They both have the same last name so they must at least be related, right? (-;
Brooklyn saw some kids riding their scooters yesterday so she wanted to ride her scooter too. I think she does pretty well for a 2 year old. (=

And a cute picture from a little while ago I just found on our camera. (=

Missing Kyle

I really miss Kyle...well actually I miss all the babies we have lost, but I am especially missing Kyle right now because it is getting close to what should have been his 1 year birthday. And I am sure it is also because lately Brooklyn keeps talking about doing things with her brother(s) and sister(s) and it makes me so sad that she doesn't have a brother or sister here now. (Although I am secretly hoping she knows something we don't and we will be able to have a brother or sister for her soon.) Anyway, I went to visit Kyle's grave today. Sometimes life is just really hard and unfair, but I am very grateful we have the gospel to help us through tough times.

My silly girl

Brooklyn wanted me to take her picture, and I kept telling her to give me a big smile...she finally did, after making a few funny faces first. (Yes she is wearing her lunch all over her shirt. (=

At the Park...

Today we went to lunch with a friend and Brooklyn surprised me and was much better behaved than usual, which made me happy. And as a bonus she actually ate some of the food I got her. Hooray! She keeps telling me she is growing up and she really must be! (Sniff sniff...my baby is growing up...)= We went to the park for a few minutes (because it was past nap time.) Here are a couple pic's.

Deciding if the slide was "too hot" to go down. (Always a concern for our little girl who never forgets anything-like a long time ago when we told her the slide might be hot... /=

Swinging on the swing-weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Cute baby gifts!

My friend sent me this website that has cute baby gifts! Check it out at http://anaheragifts.blogspot.com./

Misc.

Last night I watched the Hannah Montana movie. Silly I know, but it was actually pretty cute and it was clean, something you rarely see now days. I let Brooklyn watch it today. She really liked all the singing. Also I have been thinking that I am kind of sad that summer is getting closer to being over, but I also love all the holidays, so I am excited for them to start! These are just some pictures from the past week. (Truly a "misc" post from my thoughts to the pic's (-;

Engrossed in a show...

My little dancer on her first day of dance class. (=

Wanted me to take her picture with her "doggie"

Coloring her pictures (but distracted for a minute.)

At the Discovery Gateway.

On her favorite thing at the Discovery Gateway..."the slide" that I am not even sure was really supposed to be a slide or just a little ramp thing. Either way she loved it. (=

Davis Family Vacation to Idaho

August 10 and 11 we went to Idaho on vacation. First we went to the Potato Museum in Blackfoot Idaho. The coolest thing was the big potato out front. After that we went out to eat and then to the Pocatello Zoo. It was actually a pretty good zoo and it cost quite a bit less than the Hogle Zoo does. Then we went to Downata Hot Springs and swam and went down the big water slides. We stayed in cabins that night and the next morning we packed up and went to Bear Lake on the way home. Brooklyn's favorite thing to do at Bear Lake was to fill her boat with the wet sand. After Bear Lake we stopped and got Raspberry shakes (yum-my fave!) and then drove to Logan for dinner. Then we headed home. It was lots of fun!

Take my picture mommy!

Sometimes Brooklyn will say "Take my picture mommy." She only means it about half the time. The other half of the time she runs away or hides her face or won't smile. Anyway, these are some of those pictures, and a few random pictures.

"Washing things" in the sink. It is the only way I can get her to stand still long enough to let me so her hair.

She wanted me to take her picture and she wanted to take some too with her Elmo camera.

Messy watermelon face (and nap hair.)

Wanted her picture taken with her friend "Balloon".

Being a stinker and not smiling.

Being good and smiling. (=

Chocolate-the magic cure-all

The other day Brooklyn told me her tummy hurt and then she added- "I need some chocolate."
I always knew it had magical healing properties but I was just surprised how quickly Brooklyn picked up on that. Plus we always say that most of my mom's side of the family are major chocoholics, so I am sure Brooklyn inherited some of that too. (=

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon on Thursday. We went on my parents Lagoon Day because our Stake Lagoon Day was on our Anniversary. This is the first time Brooklyn has had a real pass. (She has gone before but just ridden the "Free" rides.) We looked at pictures of the rides online before we went and she was soooo excited to ride the "wet raft" (aka Rattlesnake Rapids.)

First she went on some kiddie rides, which I was very good about taking pictures of...then when she started riding the bigger rides I wasn't so good with the camera. )=

Anyway, she loved all the rides, despite the funny faces she is making in the pictures. She would get off and either say she wanted to go on them again or that she wanted to ride another one. She never wanted to stop going on rides because she was scared. She is kind of a little daredevil-she has no fear. She liked Rattlesnake Rapids, The Log Flume ride (is that what it is called?), the Odyssea ride, Tilt-a-whirl, the "mini swings," and she LOVED the Musical Express (which has always been one of my favorites too, so I think it might be an inherited trait (-;. The only she didn't love was the Tidal Wave. Curtis was kind of a party poop on the rides but Brooklyn and I had fun!
