Dance-Pictures, Rehersal, Recital

The past couple weeks have been busy dance weeks! Brooklyn had her pictures, and her rehersal last week, and then her recital yesterday.
She did SO well at her recital! We were so proud of her! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Larsen and Grandma and Grandpa Davis, and Julie, Stephanie, Emily and Jason for coming to see her recital! She loves the support!
The rehearsal and recital were held at Northridge High School. Brooklyn remembered her dances so well and did her best! She did great and she loves to dance!

Dino, the park and funny things

Brooklyn really wanted a picture with her dino and her dad.

At the park with Grandma and Steph. We pretty much had the park all to ourselves so that was fun!

A little while ago Curtis was putting Brooklyn's bed together and Brooklyn was sitting in her room watching him and said "Dad, do you even know anything about this?"

The first night she slept in her big girl bed I was trying to fix her sheet and blanket and she said "Mom, what are you doing?" I told her I was trying to fix her blankets and she said "I need to go to sleep, OK?" She pretty much just kicked me out of her room, but as soon as I left she went right to sleep! No excuses or stall tactics or anything!

Brooklyn gave her very first talk in primary on May 16. She talked on "Principles and Ordinances of the Gospel Lead me to Jesus Christ." (Hard for a 3 year old!) But she talked about Ordinances and showed them her dress she was blessed in, and a picture of taking the sacrament, being baptized, being confirmed, and getting married in the temple. She said a few words about each picture. She did really well!

After we came home from church that day Brooklyn wanted to play church. She asked me to find her "up" shoes. (Which I found out meant her "high heel" shoes/church shoes...because her primary teacher wears heels so she wants to too.) Then she made a little podium. Then she came and whispered a talk to me. After that we sang songs. She kept saying "the gospel..." in her "lessons" and "songs" and "talks."
Also that same day in sacrament meeting Brooklyn was playing with my watch and ask what the little knob on the side was for and I told her it was change the time on my watch. She was quiet for a minutes and then said "I am going to turn it so church is over!"

Brooklyn is still in to rhyming words and the other day she said "Mom it rhymes- Poo and peek-a-boo!" (How do you respond to that while trying not to laugh-"Yes it does rhyme, no you don't say poo...")

Davis Family Vacation to Park City/ Lehi

For our Davis Family vacation this year we stayed in Park City. We also went to Lehi and to the Museum of Ancient History at Thanksgiving Point.

Brooklyn and Julie and Brooklyn and Steph (Brooklyn LOVES to make silly faces for pictures.) We were on our way to Thanksgiving Point.

I can't rotate pictures on blogger but this is Brooklyn, and her cousins Logan and Cordon posing by the T-Rex. He is SO big I couldn't get all of him in the picture!

Taking pic's in front of the fossils!

Showing off her cool glasses for the 3-D Sea-Rex movie!

Riding the dinosaur!

I think almost everyone ended up in these pictures at one time or another...Digging in sand/water for dino's. I think Curtis and Corey enjoyed as much as (if not more than) the kids (you can see them building their dam and getting ready for their re-enactment of what might have happened to the dinosaurs.)

Daddy and Brooklyn posing by the BIG shark. (Brooklyn didn't like it much and would only take a picture by it if Daddy held her.)

Bowling! This place was "upper-class" bowling. Leather sofas to sit on, and the whole wall above the lanes was 3 different movie screens. I think my sister in law said it was a "posh" little bowling alley, and it was!

Brooklyn was tired at this point I was happy to see a smile! But she loves grandpa and Steph so I wasn't too surprised. =)

The vacation was fun. We even did some shopping at the outlet stores. The only thing that wasn't so fun was the dog poop outside our hotel door not just once but twice. Disgusting! We didn't know the hotel was "pet friendly" until we got there. I don't think we will ever stay at a pet friendly hotel again. Other than that it had a nice pool that Brooklyn loved and the breakfast was pretty good. All in all it was great little family vacation!

Mother's Day 2010

For Mother's Day this year Brooklyn and Curtis got me some flowers and a new shirt. We went to visit my Grandma's and went to eat dinner at Curtis' parents. When we went to my parents Brooklyn wanted to check out her cousin's new van. The picture are of her and Cordon sitting in their van. They thought that was just so fun! (And my mom and dad and April and half of Corey are in the background of the first picture.)

Then Brooklyn and Cordon decided to play be silly with some table clothes they found...

And Monday Brooklyn and Curtis took me out to eat at Pepperbelly's. It was a wonderful Mother's Day! Thanks to all the great mom's in our lives!

Who needs Lagoon or Chuck-e-cheese

When you can just ride the escalator at the mall up and down over and over again!
Brooklyn thinks this is so fun! (Thanks to Steph and Julie for enjoying this fun with her over and over again.)

Random Pic's and funny things

Playing Candy Land together

Just being cute!

Yesterday Brooklyn decided she needed to kiss and hug ALL her toys before she put them away. It was really cute but bedtime took so long! She also keeps using the funniest (big) words. The other day she kept saying "realize." She seriously just cracks us up! We love her so much!

New Family Pic's

We had some new family pictures taken recently. The first are from Target, and the second set are from my friend from high school Terra. (She has her own photography business.)
