Riding the alligator

The other day Brooklyn and I got into the elevator at the mall and Brooklyn said "We are riding in the alligator." And I said "You mean the elevator?" And she said "Yeah, the alligator." It was pretty funny. (=
And then yesterday she wanted to walk when we were at the store (as usual) but she has a tendency to take off running at the first sign of a chance to get away, so we have lots of talks about her staying by mommy and not going by cars...When we were done shopping and on our way out to the car I let her help me push the shopping cart. I guess she thought I was helping her push it because she turned to me and said "Don't run away. You stay by me. Don't go by cars." And then a minute later she said "Do you want to hold my hand?" And she put her little hand in mine and "pushed" the cart with the other, just to make sure I didn't run away. That little girl just cracks me up. (=

Kyle's Birthday

Today we went to my Grandma's 80th birthday open house (her b-day was actually yesterday.) After that we went to visit Kyle's grave. It is sad to think that he would be about 7 months old right now if we didn't lose him. We really miss him (and all the babies we have lost.) I really wish this wasn't the way things had turned out, and the only peace I find is knowing that someday our family will be reunited in Heaven. We love you and miss you Kyle!

Silly

Brooklyn with her messy cookie face (chocolate markings that resemble football face paint...)

and trying to hide from mommy so I wouldn't put her in bed or take her picture. (She wanted Daddy to "save" her.)

Easter

Saturday...

Brooklyn got her Easter Basket...and of course she focused on the candy first (hence the occasion appropriate "bunny" cheeks.)

Then we had an Easter Egg hunt at Grandma's.

Followed by coloring eggs (while wearing one of Grandpa's old shirts so she wouldn't get her clothes all dirty.) (= It was a fun day!

Davis Genes...

Brooklyn definitely inherited the Davis girl's curly hair...I have to say I think it is really cute on her though. (=

Pool

Today we took Brooklyn to the Clearfield Pool. She has been asking to go swimming for a while so we finally went for family night. She loved it! She even went down the big slide with mom and dad (more than once.) She really didn't want to leave. I didn't bring my camera because I hate leaving anything valuable on the side of the pool unattended (and putting it in a locker would have defeated the purpose, and carrying it with me in the water wasn't an option...) Anyway, it looked a lot like these pictures I found online...just pretend we are somewhere in the pictures (hey we could be, you can't really tell who anyone is, right...?) (=

Holding Hands

A little while ago when Brooklyn got into the "I can do everything myself" stage, we had to tell her she has to hold our hand when we are by cars, and we still have to remind her of that. We went to the store earlier and Brooklyn wanted to walk herself (as usual) and I told her before she finished climbing out of the car (by herself of course) that she needed to hold my hand because we were by cars. As soon as she got out of the car she put one of her little hands in the other and said "Look I will hold my hand." Now logically if we always tell her we need to hold hands just holding any hand should do, right? She is just too smart sometimes! (And funny (= I didn't have the camera at the time so I asked her to show me again how she holds her hand (pictured above)...

She also wanted "more monies" to put in her piggie bank today. I gave her some and she put them in. And then because it was convenient she tried to put in an Oreo. Seriously I don't know what we do without her! She keeps things fun! I tried to take a picture of her putting her monies in her piggie bank but she saw me with camera and decided to turn and smile at me at that moment. Her piggie bank (and her dinner) are in the background.
